Interesting Magic: Mono Colour EDH Generals Part 3: Red

So we're back with Part 3. Red is burnination, goblins, dragons and not many effects that aren't dealing damage on their legends. It seems Blue has the headlock on interesting legendary effects but meh, we'll soldier on anyways.

First of all we have Fumiko the Lowblood, yet again from the Kamigawa block, who while having a keyword which isn't too amazing she has the advantage of global "rage" effect which can seriously hamper your opponent's day. Especially in local metas where the format favors slow building to an overwhelming attack.

Tuktuk the Explorer is the only legendary goblin to make the list, while Squee and Kiki-jiki are popular choices they're so well known now that putting them in the list just seems a little redundant. Tuktuk has the lovely advantage of being 2 generals for the price of one. Just get the little git killed and out pops a nice fatty, with the all important different name, for you to beat face with. Remember though folks the new token isn't your commander for the purposes of commander damage, just keep that in mind.

Mannichi, the Fevered Dream is a card that makes my brain tingle in many many lovely ways but I can't quite see how to abuse it completely at the moment. Flipping power and tougness can kill walls and other such creatures or turn beatsticks into minor threats or make tough fatties nice targets for easy burn. While I can't see how you can really abuse this in EDH right now I think it may have moved itself to the top of my list as my next EDH general in mono-red.

Heartless Hidetsugu deals damage, not too exceptional there for red, but he has the added nice niceness that it's half rounded up to each player. Combined with a few ways to double damage dealt means you can headshot players or even just end the game as a draw if you happen to hate fun....

And finally Norin the Wary. For those who like a challenge. Yes that's right he RFGs himself when he attacks.....
